While city’s emergency services unit responded to 18 Winfield Ave. around 12:40 p.m. on reports of shots fired, a second distress call was made to a suicide hotline claiming the same address, City Spokeswoman Kim Wallace-Scalcione said.
The entire location was evacuated and the calls were deemed unfounded, with no injuries or victims reported, she said.
“It is unclear at this time whether or not these calls were a hoax,” Scalcione said. “The investigation is ongoing at this time.”
